|OMFIF is seeking to employ an experienced Managing Editor to manage and develop its much-expanded print and digital research output. This position, a key leadership role coordinating the editorial and research staff and other departments, involves a substantial editorial, managerial, publishing and development role. The role would encompass some writing and overall responsibility for the final editing of all OMFIF publications.|
The optimal candidate will work with partners worldwide to extend flagship publications and research programmes in line with OMFIF’s commercial objectives.
The Managing Editor will have been in a successful, active, top-level editorial/publishing environment for five to 10 years dealing with material of an economics, financial and business nature and will hold appropriate academic qualifications.

The Managing Editor will:
Become part of OMFIF’s senior management team, taking responsibility for the entirety of the Company’s publishing output, in co-operation with the Head of Research, Managing Director and other directors.
Help spur the Company’s strategic expansion working closely with Strategic Partners in different parts of the world.
Help commercialise OMFIF Research, coordinate and help build Content Publishing and Marketing to achieve an optimal combination of Meetings, Research and Publications in association with the Meetings and Membership departments.
Help drive digitalisation throughout the Company, working with all other departments.
Manage and build the Company’s flagship publications including daily commentaries, the Bulletin, Global Public Investor, OMFIF Press, the intellectual output from meetings, and bespoke reports.
Develop several new digital publications including additional monthly and annual products such as Global Public Pensions and regional editions of the Bulletin.
The appropriate candidate will have: Top-level publishing, managerial and editing skills including in digitalisation, combined with appropriate academic qualifications and experience in managing and motivating staff in an international economic research and/or policy environment.
An active eye for commercial opportunities in an international B2B setting.
Ability to think and plan strategically and creatively, communicate externally and internally, and work flexibly in a fast-moving environment where teamwork is at a premium.
A track record in producing, managing and commercialising economic/financial publications with flawless attention to detail.
Ability to build commercial relationships with Member Companies and institutions at all levels – driving programmes with public and private sector institutions across the world, including central banks, finance ministries, sovereign funds and pension funds.
